• Impartiality: The interpreter must remain strictly impartial, accurately conveying all legal concepts without bias, ensuring the Deaf individual has full and equal access to the justice system.

• Role Clarity: The interpreter's role is specifically to facilitate communication of instruction, not to tutor or provide academic assistance (often governed by the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) standards).
• Settings: K-12 classrooms, IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, college lectures, university student services, and extracurricular activities.

On-Site (In-Person) The interpreter travels to your location. Ideal for long appointments, complex legal proceedings, or situations where high-stakes personal interaction is essential. 

Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) The interpreter connects via a secure, high-quality video link. This is the most common and effective remote method for ASL.
